• The AI wave continues to grow on software development teams: Github’s latest survey included 2,000 people on software development teams at enterprises in the US, Brazil, India, and Germany about the use, experience, and expectations around generative AI tools in software development.

  • Our take: With more than 97% of respondents reporting using AI tools at work, Brazil stands out, matching the US with usage level. The level of AI adoption is encouraging amongst the surveyed software engineers, data scientists, and software designers, who believe these tools improve code quality, security, and the ability to adopt new programming languages. 

    However, there continues to be a shortage of skilled AI workers across Mexico and Latin America, with an estimated 2.5 million technology positions remaining vacant across Latin America. • Hitachi Vantara, the Japanese technology giant, is growing its presence in Latin America to capitalize on the region’s surging demand for data solutions. (Nearshore Americas)

• Coinflip, a leading US-based global digital currency platform, announced its expansion to Mexico, its third LatAm market. (Business Wire)
